1. What is the purpose of your coming to the U.S.?


I am coming to the U.S. to pursue an education by studying at a university.

I have been engaged for three months.

The dates of our first meeting was on April 13, 2020 and our most recent meeting was on May 15, 2020.

4. What are the details of your relationship, such as where you went on vacation, when you visited each other’s families, etc.?


We have known each other for 11 years and have been dating for 2 years. During this time, we have gone on multiple vacations together, such as to Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. We have also taken trips to visit each other’s families in the US and abroad. We have attended many family functions together throughout the years, celebrated each other’s birthdays, and have gone on countless dates.

5. Are you both financially independent?


This would depend on the circumstances of the individuals in question.

6. Do you have any dependents such as children or elderly parents?


Yes, I have elderly parents.

7. Who is sponsoring the K-1 Fiance(e) Visa?


The K-1 Fiance(e) Visa is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

8. Are there any obstacles that would prevent you from getting married within the 90 days allotted by the visa?


Yes, there could be many obstacles that would prevent someone from getting married within the 90 days allotted by the visa. This includes not having all required legal documents, not having enough time to arrange the necessary paperwork, not finding an officiant or venue, or not being able to obtain the necessary approvals from local authorities. Additionally, if either of the parties involved is already married, this could also constitute an obstacle.

No, all of my family members are supportive of the marriage.

No, neither of us are currently married or in another relationship.

11. What is your fiancé(e)’s occupation and income?


My fiancé is a marketing analyst and makes an annual income of approximately $75,000.

12. How will you both support yourselves financially once you are married in the U.S.?


We plan to both be employed in the U.S. in order to support ourselves financially. We plan to look for employment opportunities that match our respective skills and experience, so that we can both find suitable and well-paid jobs. Additionally, we may look into part-time or freelance work to supplement our income if necessary.

No, neither of us have a criminal record or have ever had a K-1 visa application denied.

No, neither of us have ever been deported from the U.S.

15. How did you meet and when did your relationship begin?


We met at a mutual friend’s party about five years ago. We immediately hit it off and started dating shortly afterwards.

16. How often do you communicate and how do you communicate (Skype, email, etc.)?


We communicate via email on a regular basis. We also have video conference calls via Skype or other platforms as needed.

17. What are your plans for the future together in the U.S.?


We plan to continue to work hard and save money for our future together in the US. We hope to start a family, buy a house, and pursue career paths that make us happy. We want to build a stable life for ourselves and our future children.

18. What is your knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and regulations related to K-1 Fiance(e) Visas?


U.S. immigration laws and regulations related to K-1 Fiance(e) Visas require that the foreign fiance(e) be able to demonstrate to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that he or she is entering the United States to marry the petitioner within 90 days of arriving in the United States. The foreign fiance(e) must also be able to demonstrate that they have met their fiancé in person at least once within two years prior to filing their K-1 visa application. The K-1 visa must also be sponsored by the U.S. citizen petitioner, who must provide evidence of their U.S. citizenship, financial support, and a signed affidavit of support form (I-134). The foreign fiance(e) is also required to undergo a medical examination and pass a background check before the visa can be issued.

I am passionate about teaching multicultural understanding as I have had the opportunity to learn and study many diverse cultures throughout my life. I believe that understanding different cultures is a key factor in creating a more peaceful society. I am committed to continuing my education and expanding my knowledge of different cultures, so I can better help students understand and appreciate the diverse world around them.
